Africola
Order the tea sandwiches made with hot chicken dripping.
Helmed by chef Duncan Welgemoed, Africola serves up North African dishes out of its woodfired oven, including peri peri chicken with chakalaka relish, pork neck and fried cauliflower. The multi award-winning restaurant is extremely popular, so book ahead for one of its 6pm or 8.15pm sittings.
The kitchen menu is seasonal, but one of the enduring standouts is the round of tea sandwiches made with hot chicken dripping. Order those, and at least six or seven share plates, and let the theatre commence. You'll be in safe hands if you opt for the $75 set menu, too, as no one's leaving here hungry no matter how you play it.
On the wine list you'll find Adelaide Hills, Clare Valley and Barossa drops, mostly on the low intervention winemaking spectrum. Here to party? Go for the spiced rum cocktail, Banana Hammock, to really set the tone.
