Aotearoa High Tea in The Libraries at The Hotel Britomart
Enjoy some of Aotearoa's best food in the elegant, heritage spaces of The Libraries.
At Auckland's The Hotel Britomart, everything is designed with a touch of luxury — and its high tea offering is no exception. Over the next couple of months, the hotel is hosting three exclusive high tea sittings at The Libraries, a carefully curated dining area filled with chandeliers and grand tables made with kauri. The space is located on then the first floor of the 18th century heritage masonic building and is usually only open to staying guests.
The Aotearoa High Tea does what it says on the box: celebrates the land of the long white cloud. The experience begins as all experiences should, with a glass of No1 Family Estate Assemblé sparkling wine.
This is followed by three courses of sweet and savoury bites, created by the hotel's Executive Chef Andrew Lautenbach. The food will be served alongside Zealong tea, with multiple flavours on offer.
The first two courses are a mixture of savoury offerings, including smoked Kahawai, pickle sandwiches, and a paua sausage roll served with wakame HP sauce. For the final course, guests will be served a variety of sweet treats like a malt ginger ice cream sandwich, macarons and orange sesame cake.
The Aotearoa High Tea will be held on Saturday, March 16, Saturday, April 13 and on Mother's Day, which is Sunday, May 12. There are two sittings on each date, at 12pm and 2.30pm.
