WHEN TO GO
Fiji offers year-round warmth, but it is in the tropics with a wet and dry season. The best time to visit is during the dry season, from May to October when you will enjoy lower humidity. July and August are also the most popular times to go due to its warmers weather and fewer showers, ideal for outdoor activities. But you will also catch stunning sunny days and warm weather during the shoulder seasons in April and November — plus fewer tourists.
GETTING AROUND
You can zip between islands on domestic flights, cruise the sparkling waters on boat transfers and ferries, or hop on a colourful bus for a budget-friendly ride. Need a quicker option? Taxis are always ready to whisk you away, although rental cars let you explore at your own pace. If you really want a go all out, there are plenty of private helicopter transfers and yacht charters, so you’re covered for all modes of transport on land, air and sea.
DID YOU KNOW?
Fiji is often referred to as the “Soft Coral Capital of the World”, but it’s not the only incredible aspect of this island nation. Fiji has lush landscapes, rolling hills, and over 800 species of plants that are not found anywhere else on Earth, such as the tagimoucia flower, a crimson and white flower that only grows on a single mountain ridge on Taveuni — known as “The Garden Island of Fiji”.
DON’T MISS
One dive site you absolutely cannot miss in Fiji is the breathtaking Rainbow Reef. Located off the coast of Taveuni, this underwater wonderland is renowned for its kaleidoscope of colours and diverse marine life. One of the highlights of Rainbow Reef is the famous Great White Wall, a sheer vertical drop covered in a blanket of soft white corals — mesmerising in its own right but ideal for spotting reef fish and manta rays.
